The air storage skid provides air to the starting air motor and the air driven starting fuel pump. The use of the air storage system, along with the 120vac UPS and 24vdc battery bank makes the Viking Power site black start capable.

The two air storage tanks maintain a 475psig air pressure source developed from the on skid compressors. These compressors will charge the air system when power is available and maintain the air pressure to support a black start if necessary.

One of two compressors is located on the bottom right corner of the picture mounted on the corner of the skid. Another skid is located on the opposite corner of the skid as seen in this picture.

In the center of the skid are the components that make up the air drier including an air cooled air cooler mounted just out of the picture to the top right.

This picture provides a different angle of the air drier and filter canisters.

The air piping to each unit can be seen in the pictures showing the site and turbine generator skid container.
